In recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, City of Masvingo joins the global community in raising awareness about childhood cancers, supporting affected families, and promoting early detection and treatment.
Throughout September, City Health Services Department will:
– Host awareness campaigns in communities,
– Distribute educational materials on signs and symptoms of childhood cancers.
– Provide screenings and support services at all Council Clinics.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to seek early medical attention if their children show unusual symptoms such as unexplained weight loss, persistent fever, swelling, frequent headaches and vomiting, fatigue, paleness, or easy bruising.
Council clinics will be open to provide guidance, screening and referral support.
Together, we can fight childhood cancer, and give every child the chance to live a healthy and happy life, early detection saves lives
