Masvingo launches new project ‘ Waste to Resources: Improving Municipal Solid Waste Management.

City of Masvingo commences waste separation program in Eastvale as a pilot project for the whole city aimed at enhancing solid waste management in the city.

The project aims to valorize organic and plastic waste, increase community awareness and build capacity in the cleansing department. This will allow proper refuse disposal.

Masvingo is targeting to be to be a green city and this program which promotes integrated sustainable waste management approach is a booster to this initiative.

The City of Masvingo has made strides in as far as construction of an engineered landfill for proper solid waste management.

The department of Health Services has deployed strategies aimed at improving waste collection and measures to mitigate illegal dumpsites in and around the city.
